Geese are the first domesticated poultry and are more resistant to diseases and cold climatic conditions than other poultry. Goose meat has a very important place in human nutrition because it is a good source of protein, contains essential amino acids such as arginine, and has a high level of unsaturated fatty acids. Goose meat is a healthy type of meat due to its high nutritional value, low fat and cholesterol content. In addition, the rich source of omega-3 and iron of geese are important features that make goose meat stand out among other meat products. There is an average of 25 grams of protein in 100 grams of goose meat. The daily protein requirement for men is 56 g. while it is 46 grams in women.
